Above the Clouds
Above the Clouds the Sun is Ever Shining!
, by Emmanuel Higgins
Do you sometimes feel as though the cares and perplexities of this life are pressing you about? Have you sometimes felt that it's difficult to see the providences of God in allowing certain trials to come to you?
Next time you feel discouraged and are tempted to doubt the wisdom, love and watch care of God, think of the sunshine and clouds. When clouds blot the bright beams of the sun from reaching your window, do you doubt the sun is still there?
No! Even though you can't see it, you know that the sun is still there but just that the clouds are veiling its bright rays.
Just so it should be in our spiritual battles. When the clouds of the enemy overshadow us, we mustn't doubt that Jesus, the Son of Righteousness still watches over us. By the eye of faith we must pierce through the gloom of the trial and see Christ, our blessed redeemer, who always watches over His children.
Instead of despairing, we patiently trust that He will work all things out for good, in His time, even though we may not be able to see His providences right now.
As we do this, listen to what the Bible promises.
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Isaiah 40.31
Imagine a majestic eagle soaring high above the turmoil of the storms below. Soaring to a place where the sun is always shining.
Just like the eagle, we can by faith rise above the clouds of this world's storms, and rest in the joy and peace of knowing that we are in the care of the omnipotent one.

I have the song on a MP3 file, but I am not so technical so I do not know if I can post it here on this site. Let me know, or I may just post it to your e-mail.
Have a blessed day!

Thanks Stine for that beautiful song. It's a continual encouragement to see the power and love of God evident in nature and to know, as your song says, that "This is He who's leading me".
I'd like to know how the melody goes.

Thank you, brother! That is a really encouraging thought. When I was with you at Highwood I translated one of my Norwegian songs to English. In one of the verses it is talking about just this. Thought I would share it with you:
WHO?
1. Who taught the birds that they could fly?
Who were their compass as they journeyed onward
cheering up the sky?
Who lead them through the darkest hours of midnight -
and who wake the morning rays and bid: Light?
Ch. Who lead the earths run
around the warm sun?
This is He who's leading me.
Rest, oh rest soul
for He knows all.
Trust and follow His call.
2. Who taught the eagle that its home
should be among the great and lofty mountains,
in its mighty dome?
For when the storms are sweeping through the valley
he can pierce the clouds and homeward ralley.
3. When child, when woman or a man
have seen how small we really are -
that in ourselves we nothing can -
When we have ceased from our own debating
great and mighty things for us is waiting

Thank you Derrol, I've been greatly blessed by your music especially your song called "Above the Clouds". That actually started me off to write this gem!

Thank you Emmanuel for this message. It is just what I needed for today. It was full of thoughts to stimulate and point the mind to Christ and spiritual things yet is was not too long. It gave enough to carry you through many moments throughout the day. It also gave a deeper meaning to a song that I know.
Thanks again and God bless.
